WHAT FIRST BROUGHT YOU TO CROSSFIT LITTLE ROCK?

I joined CFLR after hearing about it from a friend named Kristen King. She couldn’t say enough good things about the gym and I wanted to see what was so great about these “WODS”. It didn’t take me long to realize why Crossfit is such a superior form of staying fit. I have NEVER been able to be consistent in my workouts and considered running on the treadmill at the gym very monotonous. It didn’t produce any kind of significant difference in the way I looked and more importantly, the way I felt.

WHY DO YOU DO CROSSFIT OVER OTHER WORKOUT PROGRAMS?

Crossfit keeps me coming back because it is a different challenge every day, there is accountability with the people you work out with as well as with your coaches, it is FUN, and it makes me feel truly healthy and fit. I feel like I am stronger, can move faster, and have greater endurance than ever before. The workouts are varied which makes it impossible to get bored. Everything done in the gym is tracked so you can check your progress.

WHAT DO YOU FEEL MAKES CFLR DIFFERENT?

My favorite part about working out at CFLR is the support system that I am surrounded by. The coaches cheer me on, they push me when I need pushed, and they support me on the days that suck. If you come in and do a workout, you can guarantee there will be people who know your name at the end of the class and are cheering you on. The crazy part about it is the workout that leaves me sore for days typically lasts only 10-15 minutes!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVEMENT AT THE GYM?

I wouldn’t say I have a favorite movement that we do at the gym. Rather, my favorite time at the gym is when the WOD is over. Partly because I am not experiencing the pain of the workout anymore, and also because it is such a feeling of accomplishment. 

WHAT MOVEMENTS MAKE YOU WANT TO CRY WHEN YOU SEE THEM?

My least favorite movements that make me want to cry are generally anything having to do with burpees or toes to bars. So I cry a lot.

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE THAT IS JUST STARTING CROSSFIT OR LOOKING TO JOIN?

If you are thinking about joining CFLR and are specifically a female, I can tell you this: YOU WILL NOT GET BULKY!! I have been doing Crossfit consistently for 6 months and have only felt like I’ve gotten leaner and more toned. If you are worried about not knowing how to do weights: the coaches do not let you participate in the WODS before they are confident you know the correct technique for each lift.

ANY LAST THOUGHTS?

I FEEL healthy and confident. I could not say enough good things about Crossfit Little Rock. Know that your experience at this gym will be a huge challenge, but every day gets easier and your coaches will ALWAYS be there to root you on and take you to the next level of fitness.
