!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!! This is going to be a lengthy one. Please take the time to read and process

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It’s a new year, a new start, a new you! I don’t know about the rest of you but I intend on giving 1,000% and making this the best year of my life! I want to give my all in my relationships, my work ethic, my gym life, and in my spiritual life. I would encourage all of you to do the same!

Ok that’s it for the New Year stuff, I’ll get to the point. I am writing each of you because I sincerely want to know what you think. I want to know what you think about the way things are at the gym. I want to know what you think about the morale. I want to know what your opinions are so I’m challenging each of you to answer a few questions, whether it be verbally or written under the radar. Here is what I am asking for your opinions for:

What do you like about the gym/what is your favorite thing about the gym?

What do you dislike about the gym/what is your least favorite thing about the gym?

What do you think about the structure, i.e. the programming, workouts, sequence, etc….?

What do you think about the coaching styles, be it each coach, or in general?

What do you value in a gym experience?

So guys, this isn’t meant to be a book report, it is just a few general questions to get the synapses firing. With that being said, here are some things I want to implement immediately into every class this year: Every class will have a coach led warm-up that is specific to our goal for that day. This doesn’t mean that warming up on your own is prohibited, in fact, its encouraged. But I do feel we as coaches should share our knowledge of how to properly warm up, so with that being said, feel free to warm up on your own if you come early but know that everyone will be joining the warm-up as a group when it’s time to start class.

Also I feel that we need to bond more as a gym. Nothing crazy, but we all need to make the effort to reach out to our peers. Things like sharing more squat racks, doubling up on bars during strength sets, sharing more compliments, and boosting the camaraderie between each other. We are all in this together so we might as well all share in the PR’s and also pick people up when they’re down (unless they’re doing burpees, don’t help them up then). I think we are already doing a great job in this aspect, just want it to stick in everyone’s mind as something that is always needed.

Finally, PLEASE ASK MORE QUESTIONS!!!!

Seriously guys, if you don’t know, ASK!!! Coach Jonathan has more letters and certifications by his name than Einstein and I have a few myself. Let us use our knowledge to make you better! That’s why we are there! Please ask if you don’t know or if you are just curious! Answering questions and sharing knowledge is what keeps me eager to learn more and makes the days much more enjoyable. We all get smarter when we ask questions! Please don’t be afraid or think you will be judged for asking a question!

So let that sit and digest with you. Think about what you would change or keep and please be brutally honest with your responses, we will lower the egos and put our big boy pants on. We can take the heat! Feel free to email us, or just give us some feedback in person! Our goal is to make this the most progressive year possible and have a ton of fun while doing it. Thanks for taking the time to read and have a great weekend, its back to work on Monday

Please feel free to respond to either Jonathan or myself!
